Who we are
At ClarusBlue, our mission is to provide our clients with pragmatic, comprehensive and straightforward coaching and mentoring support, helping them address specific challenges, while building the skills, confidence, tools and techniques to succeed independently in the future.
Having worked across all manner of organisations from large corporates, to small start ups and with individuals, we saw two challenges; firstly the amount of complexity, ambiguity and jargon that a lot of consultancies and coaches used, and secondly the fact that many coaching and consulting business models are built on elongating relationships to maximise revenue.
We wanted to offer something different; straight-talking and practical support, drawing on real world experience and applying tried and tested techniques that deliver rapid improvements and long term capabilities. For us, success is helping you to develop adaptable skillsets and techniques, apply them in a manner that is authentic to you, enabling you to incrementally build your confidence and competence over time.
So, if what we offer feels like a good fit for you, book a free intro call with us today to find out how we can partner with you to help you achive your goals
Our team
Rob Garner - UK Managing Partner
Rob spent the first part of his career as a leader in the global automotive industry. In the mid to late 1990’s, all motor manufacturers wanted to emulate ‘The Toyota Way’ – a groundbreaking approach to work which not only tried to eliminate waste and focus on small, incremental changes (versus the ‘tear it all up and start again from scratch’ approach) but also the mindset that people should be trusted and that those on the ground often new best how to perform a task and should be supported in doing so.
These approaches weren’t just for building cars, and Rob’s early consulting career started in 2003 when he founded a small tech consulting firm and helped hundreds of small businesses to streamline their processes and systems, build great relationships with their customers, measure what really matters (and improve it) but, and most importantly, help the people involved in those organizations to become the very best they could be. Personal development and growth are so important to Rob and even though it’s easy to focus on the company, the journey of each person within that is what really makes the difference.
2011 saw Rob take these approaches into the world of Global Banking, and since then he has helped many thousands of people adopt new ways of working, build high performing teams and learn to become truly outstanding leaders.
In creating ClarusBlue alongside Will, Rob aims to achieve two key things. Firstly, to bring world-class leadership techniques and practices to smaller businesses, making these simple, accessible and relevant. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly - on an individual level, making that personal journey for each of us as good as it can be.
Rob believes that if you’re doing what you love, then you’ll be truly successful – as the Marc Anthony saying goes, 'If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life.'
Will Goodman - Switzerland and Europe Managing Partner
Will joined the UK Royal Marines as an Officer at 19 years old where he led teams in the UK, USA, and across four deployments to Sierra Leone and Afghanistan. His focus throughout was operations and capability development roles and through his natural affinity for leadership and creating high performing teams, he received multiple recognition awards including the Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service.
In the military, much of Will's work focussed on creating individual, team and organisational performance excellence as well as complex process transformation. As a result, when he left the military in 2013, he chose to focus on these aspects as a management consultant. Since 2013 he has worked with multiple organisations from small family businesses to large corporates across the financial services, energy, telco and consumer products industries, helping them to achieve their business goals.
As part of that he has leveraged his passion for leadership as well as personal and team performance to help hundreds of people to achieve their potential through his very personal and pragmatic style. He regularly coaches and mentors individuals, teams and leaders ranging from first-time managers, to senior and C-Suite executives.
Will's personal goal in setting up ClarusBlue with Rob, was to try and cut through a lot of the complexity in the majority of today's offerings for individual and business improvement, and leverage a broad range of theories, principles, tools and techniques, to help people develop in a way that works for them. His key principle being that if you get the fundamentals right, then the more complex challenges become easier!
